RETURN TO CANTON Jack Young and his family left from Vancouver for an extended visit to his ancestral home in the Guangzhou (Canton) area in 1948. In the brief window between the end of WWII and beginning of the People’s Republic, the Young family lived in, and toured through, southern China. Jack captures period market places, village life and city crowds – all now long-erased by the frenetic development of China. (20 min)

Bring your 8mm, super 8 & 16mm films (sorry no video) for the screening at 7pm — Or — come early to our HOME MOVIE REPAIR CLINIC from 6:30pm. If you no longer have a working projector, this is your opportunity to look through your films see what’s on them – and if you want, select a reel or two to show on the big screen. We can also help with repairs and advice on preserving your films.  = A FREE event! (donations accepted). =
