Certification Tutorials will be held periodically. These tutorials are MANDATORY for new members who wish to use the advanced video, audio, and lighting equipment. To sign up, you can send an email to equipment@hhfilmboard.com or come in person to sign up on the wall next to our doors.
Members who cannot attend the above dates can book private tutorials at the cost of $20 per tutorial. Speak to the curators several weeks in advance.
EQUIPMENT CERTIFICATION IS MANDATORY BEFORE YOU CAN USE ADVANCED VIDEO, LIGHTING, AND AUDIO PRODUCTION EQUIPMENT!
2. JOIN THE FILM BOARD COMMITTEE!
The Film Board Executive collectively oversees the various functions of the Film Board. The Executive is comprised entirely of members and meets once a month. All Film Board members are encouraged to get involved in the Executive. Plus Exec members get discount on equipment bookings so don’t hesitate!

5. TORONTO URBAN FILM FESTIVAL IS LOOKING FOR SUBMISSIONS
Toronto Urban Film Festival (TUFF) 2010
Making a great one-minute film, that’s TUFF. But we know you can do it by July 15th!
The Toronto Urban Film Festival (TUFF), unique in
North America, is a 10-day long public film festival that reaches over 1.3 million subway commuters daily.
The festival runs from September 10 – 19, 2010, concurrent with the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). Film are presented on the network of 270 subway platform screens inside the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC), and featured on the TUFF website, where people can vote for the Viewer’s Choice award.
TUFF is looking for the best silent one-minute films from across Canada and around the world. Over $10,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded to the winning films.
Films are selected by a jury, with the top films chosen by a special Guest Judge. The TUFF 2010 Jury includes
Jacob Korczynski, Min Sook Lee, Jorge Lozano,
Kathleen Mullen, Sarah Robayo Sheridan, Haema Sivanesan, and Michael Zryd.
Professional and emerging filmmakers, animators and
video artists are invited to engage with our urban-themed categories:
- Urban Encounters and Other Stories
- Our Environment and Urban Growth
- The Medium is the Message
- Urban Ideas and Politics
- Urban Journeys
- The City is a Poem
- After Night Falls
Deadline: July 15, 2010
Submit your film before June 1st and avoid the entry fee.
Fees start at $10 CAD per film on June 1st, and rise
to $15 on July 1st.
Artist fees of $100 per film will be paid to all official selections which screen on the TTC and online.
